Before Joining 2

Breaking out of memories he clouded himself in, he found himself in a cave, the machines controlling his mind for a moment, weakened. The reality of his situation set in, the lives lost and ruined due to his decisions can never be taken back. The machines which tie him down tighten once again, the anger and rage wells within him, he will continue to struggle and fight.

Description

The confusion and pain grows as his body refuses to listen.

Quest Completion Dialogue
  • Raven lowered his arm.
  • Or, he tried to. He felt his arm resisting him.
  • Confused, Raven attempted to move his arm, but the arm would only flinch slightly, but refused to move.
  • It felt like he was trying to move someone else's arm. Was my arm always this long? It's so far away, he didn't think he could move it.
  • ???: I was to know as well.
  • Raven: (What. My arm? Or my reason?)
  • The moment, he felt a piercing headache, and lost his balance.
  • Raven: Aaack...!
  • Every time he breathed, the stuffy, disgusting air filled his lungs. Raven felt sick as he tried to calm his breathing.
  • Water Droplets: Drip, drip, drip, drip....
  • Raven: (The water is too loud.)
  • Raven: (I want to get out of here.)
  • Raven: (But, where am I?)
  • ???: Follow your orders.
  • Raven: (Why should I?)

Description

The past memories that were forgotten for some reason resurface as his mind races through various thoughts.

Quest Completion Dialogue
  • Raven: Ha, uh, ugh... cough, cough!
  • How long did he just cough as if his lungs are about to give out. He noticed he was sitting on mossy ground.
  • Unidentified spores that looked like green dust or moss covered the ground, and collapsed upon touch.
  • Raven: (It doesn't look like the ffoor or his dormitory.)
  • Suddenly, Raven remembered that the moment of his arrest was already a past long gone.
  • Raven: (Then where am I? And this voice?)
  • When he jerked his head up, his eyes met with a pair of large eyes.
  • Raven: Ugh?!
  • Raven instinctively backed down and raised his sword to defend himself, but there was no attack.
  • He glanced up in suspicion. What he saw were not eyes, but a large flower.
  • The enormous flower had red petals that resembled rotting animal skin, and the abnormally large stamens looked like beads.
  • In this brutal environment where though stems and spores were tangled with machine, the flower looked oddly alive. Even knowing that he was looking at a flower, Raven thought it was glaring at him.
  • The dancing green spores that floated around the stuffy dark space landed on the blade.
  • Raven: (Was this the cause of the stuffy air?)
  • Raven sheathed his blade.
  • Raven: (Why am I here?)
  • Raven parsed through his faint memory. I am Raven Cronwell, the leader of a mercenary troop. And... the one who lost everything.
  • He received fatal wounds when he was running away... and felt his inevitable death. But for some reason, he was still alive.
  • After he was reconstructed by a machine called the king of Nasods, he was under orders to...
  • Raven: (... ravage... the villages. It's sickening.)
  • Raven: (And just now... Was it reading my memories? I didn't notice at all. Even though I heard them so clearly...)
  • Raven: (Not only do you control my body, but do you plan on playing with my mind as well?)
  • Raven: It's just bad taste. I can't stay here. I need to get out of here.
  • As he was about to leave, Raven hesitated and stopped.
  • Raven: (Once I leave... What can I do?)
  • This was going to be a temporary freedom. He already escaped King Nasod's clutches before, tough not exactly like how he did now.
  • Raven: (And every attempt failed.)
  • Even if he manages to escape, there was no where left for him to go. His lover, friends, allies, family...
  • His family... It was one of the first things he lost in his life.
  • He was no longer a child by the time he was adopted by Sir Cronwell, so he didn't even dare to consider him his family... But perhaps he was being selfish.
  • What happened to Sir Cronwell...
  • Knowing he would have faced trouble because of him made him remorseful.
  • Raven persuaded himself that as a noble, and a hero of the Kingdom, Sir Cronwell would be in a better situation than him.
  • But that didn't mean he could go back.

Description

As the machine loses control, the man's mind becomes clearer.

Quest Completion Dialogue
  • He moved his left arm that was now made of Nasod parts. Now that the mind control device lost control, Raven could feel the machine placed inside his body.
  • If he held his breath, he could even hear the machine humming inside him.
  • Raven: (Disgusting.)
  • Raven: (... Why did it have to be me. Why my allies.)
  • Raven: (Why, why did it have to be you.)
  • Seris: Why mercenaries? Aww Raven, I'm hurt!
  • Seris: I told you before. I need to plan for my own future. I don't want any help from my family. I don't need it.
  • Seris: I just need you and Owen. We did fine just between the three of us. We're like three musketeers!
  • Seris: So don't even think about leaving me behind!
  • Seris: Heh... I'm just joking! Oh, what did you want to talk about? Is it important?
  • Seris: Huh? A... ring?
  • Raven: (I'm sorry.)

  • Why did you have to lose your life.
  • His heart began to thump. He did not know how much of his body was replaced by machines, but it seemed that his heart was still his own.
  • Raven: (I need to revenge. Before I lose this feeling.)

  • Raven could remember that King Nasod saw the indigenous tribe as a threat because they were knowledgeable on Nasod technology.
  • Perhaps they know how to get rid of this device.
  • Raven's mind control device was constantly sending off warnings the moment he left the area of operation. The Nasod King would have noticed already. There was no time.

  • As he ran past the broken Nasods and the fallen Black Crow soldiers, and the machinery that filled the space, Raven thought about Seris.
  • When he recalled Seris, Owen's face was soon to follow.

  • He pulled his left arm closer, as it dragged behind because of the weight, and hurried.
  • Raven: I refuse to follow your orders like a puppet.
  • Raven: Even if I fail, I'm going to struggle.
  • Though he was talking to himself, he knew that the Nasod King would hear him.
  • Raven: This is my rage, my revenge. Don't dare to take advantage of what's mine!
