Hamel-shadow-walker.jpg Shadow Walker - This is the basic Shadow monster.
  • Claw Attack: A basic 3 hit combo with their claws.
  • Recover Claw: When knocked down, spring back on its feet with an overhead claw slash.
Shadow Charger.jpg Shadow Charger - A large Shadow monster.
  • Charge: It will run forward, damaging any players within its path.
  • Grab: It can also grab onto any players, immobilizing them. You can escape from their grasp by rapidly tapping the left and right arrow keys.
Shadow Defender.jpg Shadow Defender - A Shadow monster will a sharper less humanoid build.
  • Shadow Spear: It will launch spears in and arc towards you. When a player gets hit by the spears, they will be Cursed and will gradually lose mana over time.
  • Dark Aura: Emit a dark aura that increases the defense of monsters within range. It will also cause Shadow Charger's Grab to drain HP and MP at a significant rate.
  • Crescent Slash: When knocked down, recover by swinging its thorn like arms ins a circle.
Laguz Stricken City.jpg Laguz - This Water Spirit mermaid.
  • Bubble Attack: She can release 3 bubbles in front of her and popping them, which will damage and inflict Frostbite.
  • Bubble Aura: They can also release a bubble aura to encase any players in range in a bubble.
  • Self-Destruct: After killing one, they will trap any players close to them in a bubble. When trapped in a bubble, you will not be able to move.
Iz Stricken City.jpg Iz - An Ice Spirit mermaid.
  • Ice Breath: She can spew her frost breath in front of her, which induces Freezing.
  • Self-Destruct: After killing one, they will emit an aura that freezes you.
Hamel-shadow-sniper.jpg Shadow Sniper - This Shadow monster attacks by slowly charging up their laser and then firing it.
  • Light Beam: Slowly charges up their laser and then fires it. The laser will travel across the entire stage.
AncientNasodGuard Head.jpg Ancient Nasod Guard - An enhanced version of the Ancient Nasod Sentinel with ranged capabilities.
  • Activate: Upon being approached it will spin dealing damage to those immediately next to it.
  • Slam: The Nasod will slam players with its arms.
  • Arrow: If you are in shooting distance they will shoot arrows.
  • Projectile Counter: They can create a force field to deflect projectiles.
MiniAncientNasodSentinel Head.jpg Mini Ancient Nasod Sentinel - A smaller version of the Ancient Nasod Sentinel.
  • Activate: Upon being approached it will spin dealing damage to those immediately next to it.

Ancient Nasod Guard.jpg Ancient Nasod Sentinel - An ancient Nasod found in Hamel's waterways.
  • Activate: Upon being approached it will spin dealing damage to those immediately next to it.

Merman.jpg Merman - Holds a fish and whacks you with it.
  • Fish Attack: Swings his fish like a club to harm players.

  • Block: They can defend oncoming attacks from the front with its claw.
  • Snip: Attack players twice with its pincers.
  • Claw: Attack with its claw inducing Leg Would.
Piranha.png Piranha - A school of fish that float around and can attack you, but are rather weak and slow moving.
  • Swarm: They will dash at you as a collective unit.
Hamel-shadow-linker.jpg Shadow Linker - A small Shadow monster that can Soul Link just like Shadow Master.
  • Link: The Shadow Linker will link itself with a player causing them to have significantly reduced movement and attack speed.
AncientCockatrigle Head.jpg Ancient Cockatrigle - A beefed up version of the Cockatrigle.
  • Peck: It will peck several times with its beak.
  • Juggle Charge: It will charge forward juggling players in its way with its head.
  • Bird Laser: The Cockatrigle will fire a laser out of its mouth at the grounddealing damage to those in front of it.

Bizarre Conrad.jpg Bizarre Conrad - An old man with a bluish complexion in a UFO. He somehow has knowledge of Nasod technology.
  • Heaven's Fist - Abandoned: Summons a rocket propelled fist at a fixed range to attack you with. Does substantial damage. The arm will collapse after he uses this attack.
  • Failed Hornet Sting: Conrad whisks out a cannon and fires a missile at you. He then chucks the cannon at you when he's done.
  • Slide: Conrad slides away from you in his UFO.
  • Health Conversion: Conrad will remove some of his mana in order to regain some health.
  • Triple Spear: Conrad will summon 3 Nasod spikes out of the ground in front of him to attack you.

Obstacles Image Obstacles Description
Water.png Water - While submerged in water movements and attacks will be slowed down exponentially as well as jump height being increased significantly. While underwater an oxygen meter will appear above the player and once depleted will cause the character to drown.
Mirror of Light.jpg Mirror of Light - Throughout the stage various Mirrors of Lights will be found in certain location. They however serve little to no purpose outside of Story Quests.
Pitfalls - A gaping hole in the ground, falling down one of these will result in a percent loss in HP.

TOL.jpg Taranvash of Light - Possessing the ancient power of light. Taranvash was the faithful Holy Beast who defended Hamel, but went insane due to the absence of the Water Priestess.
  • Swipe: Swipes at you twice.
  • Teleport Attack: Teleports up and swipes at you with its tail, this is very fast and deals damage.
  • Reflective Aura: Cloaks itself in a reflective aura. All Arrows, Electron Balls, Fireballs, Magic Balls, or Bullets will be reflected.
  • Charge: Charges at you.
  • Light Burst: Surround itself in a blue light aura that explodes dealing high damage.
  • Rising Bubbles: Summons bubbles from the ground that traps you. Induces Frostbite when they burst.
  • Recovery Swipe: Swipe at you once when it recovers from being being knocked down.
  • Tora Laser: Concentrates its energy on the tip of its tail and releases it in a massive horizontal laser beam. Does substantial damage to the player.
Mirror of Light.jpg Mirror of Light (2x) - Can be found on either side of the stage. The mirrors will move every few seconds during the boss fight.
  • Mana Drain: These mirrors eat up any mana you have when you approach them. Being close to any one of the mirrors will cause your to constantly lose MP.
  • Clone: Once the lights from the mirrors touch the stage, a clone of the Taranvash of Light will appear. Up to two of these clones can appear and WILL attack you.
    • However, you are unable to attack the clones themselves.


  • To prevent this or destroy the clones, carry out any combos that either launches or knocks down such as Eve's >>x on the mirrors which will cause the mirror to shift one phase back.

  • Oddly, one of Rena's dungeon clear quotes mentions the giant wheels that appear within sections of the waterway, even though they were exclusive to the currently Heroic Mode-only Heart of the Ancient Waterway dungeon, and do not appear in this dungeon.
  • In Reaper - Death/Reverse's dialogue, if you drops an iron axe into the river in Ancient Waterway, Taranvash will appear and give you a golden axe.
