The Magic Orb Explosion will trigger whenever Lu hits a floor, including platforms above her, even if Lu herself doesn't end up on top of said platform.
Since Lu is moving throughout the skill, the entire skill will be pushed away if it's used near a wall to accommodate for her movement.
