On past occasions, the publishing companies of Elsword would hold design contests. A winning design would be chosen for every character available at the time of the contest, as well as the occasional accessory, pet, or miscellaneous categories. The designs were player-submitted and winners would obtain cash shop currency, as well as having their design implemented in-game, although some remained exclusive to the winning server.
